    Our Presenters

    Flora Lai M.S., LPC, RPT
    EMDR Trained

    Flora is a bilingual (Mandarin/English) Licensed Professional Counselor in Texas and National Certified Counselor (NCC). Flora also certified as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Washington. Flora has experience working with children, teens, young adults, adults, and immigrant family from Asian Countries, as well as the use of Child-Parent Relationship Therapy.

    Flora places a heavy emphasis on establishing a safe and collaborative relationship with all clients. She provides each client with a safe, non-judgmental environment to express their issues and concerns, and hopes to help people find their strengths by supporting them with their unique needs.

    One of Flora’s focuses is working with children/teens and their caregivers. She enjoys working with children and use their language to help them get insight. She also enjoys working with parents to use play therapy skills to communicate with their kids. Flora is EMDR trained as well.

    Flora has a Master’s degree in Counseling with a focus in Play Therapy from the University of North Texas. She has also co-led the group for Child-Parent Relationship Training (CPRT) Group in both English and Mandarin. Flora have facilitated international student self-support groups and co-led psychoeducation groups 

    Maribel Faucett M.Ed, LPC-S, RPT-S,
    EMDRIA-Certified

    Maribel Faucett, a bilingual (Spanish) Licensed Professional Counselor and Board Approved Supervisor, has nearly 17 years of experience working with children, teens, adults, and couples. As a Registered Play Therapist Supervisor and Humanistic SandTray Trained Therapist, she specializes in using play-based therapeutic approaches to foster emotional healing and growth in children and families. Her experience as a high school counselor and elementary school teacher further enhances her understanding of child development.

    Maribel holds a Master’s Degree in Guidance and Counseling from the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley and has supervised and trained numerous licensed counselors and play therapists. She is the founder of Minds in Action Counseling, a group practice where she leads a team of therapists offering services across the lifespan.

    Maribel has been deeply committed to advancing Play Therapy, serving as both a board member and past president of the Rio Grande Valley Chapter of the Texas Play Therapy Association. Additionally, she is an EMDR Certified Therapist, specializing in trauma-informed care and in currently on the Certification track to be a Gottman Couples therapist. 

    Regine K. Chung, Ph.D., LMHC, CCPT/CPRT/CCGPT-S, CAS

    Dr. Regine Chung, LMHC(WA), CCPT/CCGPT/CPRT-S, CAS, is a Consultant and Trainer at Minds in Action Counseling and an Assistant Professor at Niagara University in Lewiston, NY. She earned her PhD in Counseling at the University of North Texas, specializing in evidence-based Child-Centered Play Therapy (CCPT), Child-Centered Group Play Therapy (CCGPT), and Child-Parent Relationship Therapy (CPRT). Regine has extensive clinical and supervisory experience with clients across the lifespan and a spectrum of neurodevelopmental needs. Her work and internship settings included university community clinics, a domestic violence agency, general and special education environments, and private practice. She is the author of several book chapters and peer-reviewed articles on multicultural issues and play therapy. Her recent research on CCPT with autistic children is recognized by multiple accolades, including the Dan E. Homeyer Play Therapy Research Grant Award and the Association for Play Therapy Student Research Award. She focuses on multicultural issues in counseling, play therapy, neurodiversity, and immigrant populations in her current research, seeking to improve treatment effectiveness and accessibility.
