    Children with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) often navigate a complex landscape of social, emotional, and behavioral challenges that can significantly impact their development and mental well-being. This training is designed to equip play therapists with the essential skills and knowledge to effectively support these children.

    In this engaging training, participants will delve into the developmental features of ADHD and explore how the Child-Centered Play Therapy (CCPT) framework can be integrated with neurodiversity-affirming practices. Through hands-on learning, you will practice therapeutic responses and case conceptualization techniques tailored to enhance your play therapy practice for children with an ADHD diagnosis.

    • Understand the developmental features of ADHD in early to middle childhood
    • Describe how the CCPT framework can be applied to conceptualize ADHD
    • Apply at least 3 therapeutic skills to meet the needs of children with ADHD
    • Integrate at least 3 considerations when working with children with ADHD in CCPT
    • Identify resources to support children with ADHD in school settings
    • Explore current research supporting the use of CCPT for neurodiverse populations

    Continued Education (CE’s)

    Upon completion of the 6-hour training, participants will receive 6 Contact CE credits.

    Participants must sign-in and sign-out and complete the evaluation to receive the CE credits.

    Requirements to attend:

    • To enroll in this program, participants must be either licensed mental health professionals or currently enrolled in a graduate program in the mental health field.
    • It is strongly suggested that attendees have completed a graduate-level introductory course in play therapy, or a similar course, as well as a graduate-level course in human development or its equivalent.
    • Additionally, prior experience working with this specific client population is encouraged for those intending to apply this material.
    • Please note, play therapy credit cannot be granted to individuals who are not mental health professionals.

    • No refunds are issued after the program starts.
    • Cancellations made at least 14 days before a scheduled training will receive a refund minus a $25 administrative fee. 
    • Cancellations made less than 14 days before will not receive a refund or credit. No refunds are given for no-shows or missed training.
    • You may transfer your registration to another qualified attendee with applicable credentials at no charge.
    • Full attendance is required. Programs depend on sufficient registration. If Minds In Action Counseling cancels a program, all paid registrants will receive a full refund.
    • Minds In Action Counseling is only responsible for registration costs. Additional costs are the registrant’s responsibility.
