Motherhood, Pregnancy, and Loss Are Profound — You Shouldn't Navigate Them Alone

Whether you’re pregnant, postpartum, struggling with fertility, or grieving a pregnancy loss, your emotional experience matters just as much as your physical one. You deserve support that truly understands the complexity of what you’re going through — not just a checklist. This is a space where all of it is welcome.

    How I Help

Perinatal Mental Health (PMH-C Certified): I use this specialized approach to support women through the emotional and psychological dimensions of pregnancy, postpartum, infertility, and pregnancy loss — including the grief that often goes unacknowledged.

Play Therapy & Child-Parent Relationship Therapy: This approach is great for children and families navigating transitions, anxiety, behavioral challenges, or relationship difficulties. Play is how children process the world, and I meet them there.

CBT for Insomnia (CBTi) & Mindfulness: I use these evidence-based tools to help clients manage anxiety, improve sleep, and build resilience during some of life’s most demanding seasons.

    Education & Experience

I earned my Master’s Degree in Counseling from the University of North Texas (2021). I also hold a Master’s degree in Psychoanalysis with a specialization in children and young adults from Santiago, Chile, as well as a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Mexico. I am a Certified Perinatal Mental Health Counselor (PMH-C) and a Certified CBT-I Therapist. In addition, I have over eight years of experience working as a psychologist and counselor across multiple countries. My clinical training also includes certification in Play Therapy and training in Child-Parent Relationship Therapy (CPRT).

    A Little About Me

I’m a Latina immigrant who has lived in five countries, navigated new cultures, and built resilience through lived experience. My multicultural background and trilingual fluency are not just parts of my story — they are at the heart of how I connect, understand, and support the people I work with. My clients call me “Shlo,” and I love when they share little moments from their lives with me, just as I enjoy sharing fun facts about my two dogs.

I am also a mother, and my own journey through pregnancy, postpartum, and the emotional challenges of motherhood deeply shaped both my personal and professional path. These experiences led me to specialize in Perinatal Mental Health, so I can support moms through the tender, overwhelming, and transformative moments of parenting.

In my free time, I find joy in music, traveling, wandering through local markets, and discovering the best pastries along the way. I also practice yoga, spend time outdoors, and try to live the mindfulness and presence I bring into my work with clients.
