Dr. Regine Chung is a Certified Autism Specialist and Licensed Professional Counselor Associate working under the supervision of Maribel Corona M.Ed., LPC-S, PRT-S. Regine earned her doctoral degree in Counseling from the University of North Texas. She specializes in working with neurodivergent populations, as well as clinical issues concerning relational trauma, anxiety, and bicultural identity development. Through her doctoral work, Regine gained professional experience serving clients, training future counselors, and conducting intervention research. She has extensive clinical experience working with clients of all ages and diverse cultural backgrounds in university clinics, a domestic violence agency, and in both general and special education settings.
Regine previously held the role of assistant director of a university center for play therapy for four years, while providing play therapy supervision to clinicians and serving the local Denton community. She currently serves as an assistant professor at Niagara University educating counseling students in Western New York.
Regine is passionate in her work of facilitating evidence-based child-centered play therapy (CCPT) and child-parent relationship therapy (CPRT) to supporting children and families who experienced adverse childhood experiences (ACEs). She is also well versed in integrating expressive and experiential experiences in counseling to help adult and adolescent clients process their anxiety, attachment and relationship issues and traumatic experiences.

She grew up in Hong Kong, a compact metropolitan Asian city, well known for its vibrant and diverse culture. She moved to the United States to pursue her doctoral degree and advanced play therapy training. Regine is fluent in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin; her experiences as an international student and scholar allowed her to connect with clients of diverse cultures and support them in their nuanced cultural exploration and self-discovery.
