Parenting Is Hard — Especially When Your Child Has Been Through Something Difficult

Whether your child is struggling with anxiety, trauma, or developmental challenges, or you’re working through your own relational wounds as an adult, you want real support — not generic advice. You want someone who understands where you’re coming from, including culturally. Dr. Chung does.

    How I Help

Child-Centered Play Therapy (CCPT): I use this to help children ages 3–12 work through big emotions, trauma, and behavioral challenges using play — their natural language for healing. This evidence-based approach creates meaningful change without requiring a child to “talk it out.”

Child-Parent Relationship Therapy (CPRT): This approach is great for parents who want to deepen their connection with their child, reduce conflict, and become a stronger emotional anchor for their family — all in about 10 structured sessions.

Expressive & Experiential Modalities: I use this to help adult and adolescent clients work through anxiety, attachment issues, and trauma in ways that go beyond traditional talk therapy.

    Education & Experience

I earned my Doctor of Philosophy in Counseling from the University of North Texas — one of the top play therapy programs in the country. My doctoral work was recognized with the Dan E. I previously served as Assistant Director at the UNT Center for Play Therapy and currently serve as an Assistant Professor of Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Niagara University. My work has been presented at national and international conferences.
