    Dr. Regine Chung, LMHC(WA), RP (ON, Canada) is a Consultant and Trainer at Minds in Action Counseling. She is a Certified Trainer and Supervisor in evidence-based Child-Centered Play Therapy (CCPT-S/T) and Child-Parent Relationship Therapy (CPRT-S/T), and a Certified Autism Specialist (CAS). Dr. Chung is currently working towards licensure in the State of Texas as a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate under the supervision of Maribel Faucett M.Ed., LPC-S, PRT-S and Dee Ray, Ph.D., LPC-S, NCC, RPT-S.

    Dr. Chung is dedicated to providing culturally inclusive and developmentally appropriate support to her clients and colleagues. Dr. Chung’s work has been recognized with the Dan E. Homeyer Play Therapy Research Grant Award and the Association for Play Therapy Student Research Award, demonstrating her commitment to advancing effective mental health approaches. She has also presented her work at various conferences, reaching an international and national audience.

    With a doctoral degree in Counseling from the University of North Texas (UNT), Dr. Chung specializes in assisting neurodivergent individuals, addressing relational trauma, adverse childhood experiences (ACEs), anxiety, and cultural identity development. Dr. Chung has extensive clinical experience in a variety of settings, including university clinics, domestic violence agencies, and both general and special education environments. She has worked with clients of all ages and from diverse cultural backgrounds, demonstrating her versatility and empathy in therapeutic settings.

    Dr. Chung previously worked as an Assistant Director at the UNT Center for Play Therapy for four years. During this time, she provided supervision and actively engaged with the local Denton community. Currently, she serves as an Assistant Professor of Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Niagara University, where she imparts her knowledge to counseling students in Western New York.

    Dr. Chung’s dedication to her craft is evident in her passion for facilitating evidence-based child-centered play therapy (CCPT) and child-parent relationship therapy (CPRT). She is particularly focused on supporting children and families affected by adverse childhood experiences (ACEs). Her proficiency in integrating expressive and experiential modalities in counseling benefits adult and adolescent clients as they work through anxiety, attachment issues, and trauma.
