Keegan Friedrichs, an LPC-Associate, offers support for clients of all ages in-person, and virtually for those over 15 years of age. She has experience working with clients dealing with PTSD, anxiety, depression, and teenagers struggling with substance use. She is passionate about helping children and teenagers who have experienced traumatic events or struggle with suicidal and self-harm urges. She also values a system-based approach, involving parents and support persons at every stage of the healing journey.
In addition, she is dedicated to assisting individuals of all ages who are navigating life with chronic illnesses. Having faced various illnesses herself, she understands the challenges and is committed to helping clients learn to live well with long-term conditions. Her approach includes guiding clients through the grieving process of their former wellness, by fostering acceptance, and establishing healthy boundaries for optimal daily functioning.
Her goal is to help clients develop the knowledge and skills needed to cope with life’s circumstances. Providing a safe, non-judgemental space, she encourages clients to process life events and express emotions freely. With experience in Trauma-Focused CBT, EMDR, CPT, CBT, Mindfulness-based treatment and Adlerian approaches, she tailors her methods to meet the unique needs of each individual.
Understanding that reaching out to a counselor can feel overwhelming, she strives to make the process as smooth as possible. Building a supportive and compassionate therapeutic relationship is at the core of her practice, ensuring clients feel genuinely understood and valued.
