Abby is available in-person at the home office, at Rustic Way Ranch, and via Telehealth across Texas.

Hi there! I’m Abby, an EMDR-trained, LPC-Associate offering individual counseling services via telehealth and in-person. I have a genuine love and passion for supporting others during challenging times in Life, offering perspective, empathy, insight, and helpful tools and skills. My approach is person-centered, yet integrative, focusing on your unique values, personal experiences, and the interconnectedness of your mind, body, and spirit. I apply techniques commonly found in acceptance and commitment therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, positive psychotherapy, and logotherapy. However, I am known to draw from and integrate other modalities and frameworks when best fit for the individual, such as the enneagram and strengths-based inventories.

When Life’s demands start to overburden you, it’s easy to lose sight of and disconnect from your internal World. You might find yourself questioning who you are, doubting your abilities, lacking in self-compassion and self-love, struggling with disheartening beliefs, or feeling overwhelmed with emotions. I help clients step inside themselves and gain deeper self-awareness and management of emotions, cultivate mindfulness in actions, break deep-rooted unhelpful beliefs and thought patterns, and increase resilience. Recognizing the power your thoughts, feelings, and choices have can bring inspiring insight to your World and identity, with better understanding. You deserve to understand yourself, and you deserve to be understood by those around you.

I am particularly well-suited to support individuals grappling with energy-depleting emotions, navigating transitional periods, emerging adulthood, exploring identity development, embracing the freedom to find meaning, and developing skills helpful for present and future obstacles. Additionally, I have extensive experience working with individuals with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) in a variety of settings. Prior to my Master’s, I was a registered behavior technician and utilized Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) throughout my undergraduate and graduate career. Supporting the ASD population continues in my professional counseling career, though now through a neurodivergence-affirming lens. I have also enjoyed gaining experiences working in in-patient and outpatient settings, with adolescents in PHP/IOP, as an academic counselor, and enneagram coaching.

In our sessions, you’ll have a space to safely be authentically you, with the support of a collaborative therapist who sees the potential in you you may not already see in yourself. I challenge blind spots, build on your strengths, present resources, and incorporate humor, compassion, and empowerment. I firmly believe within each of us lies the power to take control of our narratives, make positive changes, and reach our full potential.

I would be honored to be trusted in you sharing your most vulnerable self with me. If you’re interested in exploring whether we would be a good fit, I offer complimentary consultation calls to see if we connect in the way you need.
