Hi! My name is Selena, and I am a bilingual (English/Spanish) therapist who is compassionate about helping people of all ages feel more grounded in life’s instability. I am an LPC-Associate under the supervision of Maribel Faucett, MEd, LPC-S, RPT-S. I utilize a trauma-informed, holistic, and humanistic approach with adults, while using Child-Centered Play Therapy with children, always applying the modality that best fits each person’s developmental and therapeutic needs.
I provide in-person individual counseling for all ages, as well as telehealth services for teens and adults. When children struggle to communicate and express themselves verbally, play therapy allows me to enter their world in a way that feels natural and safe. Play therapy creates a supportive environment for big emotions while empowering children to regulate their feelings, build self-esteem, enhance relationships, increase communication, and strengthen coping skills. While working with children, I strive to bridge the gap between their behaviors and internal experiences so their voices can be heard and the healing process can begin.
I have experience working with children and families who have faced trauma and life transitions, including witnessing domestic violence, bullying, grief, and separation. I aim to empower caregivers by offering resources, psychoeducation, and close collaboration throughout their child’s therapeutic journey. I am trained in Child-Parent Relationship Therapy and highlight the tools caregivers already possess, while also working together to recognize methods that may no longer serve the family system and introducing new resources to better support your family’s current needs.
At the core of our work together, I aim to provide a safe, welcoming space where you feel heard and empowered in your healing journey. I believe that healing begins when our thoughts, feelings, and experiences are seen, understood, and accepted in a supportive environment. Just like the moon, we go through phases in life, and I am here to support you through changes, anxiety, depression, trauma, family conflicts, stress, and other life experiences. I believe this is your journey, taken at your pace, and when life feels heavy, I strive to walk alongside you.
With teens and adults, my approach may integrate activities and talk therapy designed to restore balance and embrace stability amid life’s chaos, while exploring emotional regulation, patterns, self-awareness, inner parts, attachment, and values. I also provide psychoeducation on how stress and trauma affect the body, helping calm the nervous system and strengthen the mind-body connection.
I am LGBTQ+ affirming and committed to creating a safe, non-judgmental environment that fosters growth for individuals of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities. My holistic approach honors and incorporates the many cultures, family structures, neurodivergence, and environments that shape your lived experience.
