Brisa earned her Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from Tarleton State University. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate working under the supervision of Maribel Corona M.Ed., LPC-S, RPT-S while accumulating her hours to practice independently. During her time at Tarleton State University she provided counseling to children, and individuals who had been impacted by domestic violence and sexual assault. She has worked with individuals across the lifespan and provided individual counseling services. In addition, she is Certified as a School Counselor which allowed her to work with children presenting behavioral, trauma, and academic difficulties.

It is her aspiration to educate the community and help individuals resolve their psychological, personal and relationship problems. She strongly believes that a solid therapeutic bond creates a safe place for children and adults to fully express and work towards healing. Her experience as an educator has allowed her to understand children from all cultural backgrounds.

More about Brisa

She grew up in Mexico, moved to the United States at the age of 11 years old and has been in Texas ever since. She experienced many mixed emotions during the transition, she had to learn English quickly and reading taught her the new vocabulary and it became her hobby as well. She enjoys spending time with her four sisters, as well as having a quiet and peaceful place to relax. She has a dog and strongly believes pets could be essential to mental wellness. Brisa is fluent in English and Spanish.
