Amy Burley

Amy has experience counseling children, teens, and adults facing a range of concerns. Amy is a Licensed School Counselor, and a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate under the supervision of Maribel Corona, M.Ed., LPC-S, RPT-S while accumulating her hours to practice independently. She has worked in school prevention programs for at-risk youth, non-profit agencies and in private practice, offering compassionate and practical counseling to clients, ranging from ages 5-70 years of age. Amy is a former Art and English teacher, school counselor, and has completed extensive training in Play Therapy. Amy has experience providing Child-Centered and Adlerian Play Therapy to children and working with their parents, to increase parenting skills and strengthen the attachment bond between parent and child. Amy is working towards becoming a Registered Play Therapist.

Amy believes in helping clients experience improvement by learning coping skills and find resolution for long-standing difficulties. Amy has helped many clients find relief, hope, and healing for depression, anxiety, academic concerns, self-esteem issues, relational conflicts, grief, anger, self-harm, life adjustments, and prior trauma. Amy incorporates Cognitive Therapy and the Experiential Modalities of Sandtray, Expressive Arts, and Play Therapy, to help clients access the inner parts of themselves and become whole.

In her free time, Amy enjoys painting, home decor, and crafts; spending time with her husband and grown children, walking her fur babies Daisy and Cherie, and playing board games and working crossword puzzles.

Amy is self-pay only and does not accept insurance.
She is accepting clients 10 years of age and above.
