    A Holistic Approach

At Minds In Action Counseling, we are thrilled to introduce Equine-Assisted Therapy through our partnership with Rustic Way Ranch. This unique and powerful form of psychotherapy is designed to help individuals, especially kids and teens, navigate mental health challenges in a transformative, nature-based setting.

Our licensed therapists bring their expertise in mental health, while the experienced staff at Rustic Way Ranch handle all horse-related activities, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for therapeutic interactions.

    Nature-Based Therapy

    What is Nature-Based Therapy?

    What is Equine-Assisted Therapy?

Equine-Assisted Therapy incorporates interactions with horses into the therapeutic process, helping clients gain emotional insight and personal growth. This approach focuses on improving mental and emotional health through the interaction with and presence of horses. The intuitive, empathetic nature of horses helps clients reflect on their emotions and behavior patterns, making this a powerful supplement to traditional talk therapy.

    How Equine-Assisted Therapy Works

In each session, the therapist guides the client through therapeutic activities, with the horse acting as a facilitator. These interactions—whether grooming, observing, or simply being near the horse—offer clients profound insights and emotional breakthroughs. Horses’ sensitivity to non-verbal cues allows them to mirror human emotions, making them ideal companions for teens who may struggle with verbal expression.

    A Holistic Ranch Experience

In addition to the therapeutic work with horses, Rustic Way Ranch offers a tranquil setting that includes walking trails, a peaceful garden, and interactions with small farm animals. This serene environment enhances the healing process, providing a space for clients to connect with nature while reflecting on their inner experiences. Through tending the garden, clients experience personal growth as they nurture and harvest plants and vegetables.  By combining therapeutic guidance with nature, interaction of animals and time spent in the garden, clients are encouraged to grow towards emotional healing and self-discovery.

    Who Can Benefit?

Nature-Based Therapy, including Equine-Assisted Therapy is particularly beneficial for children and teens facing challenges such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and behavioral concerns. This therapy is also highly effective for families seeking to strengthen emotional bonds. By combining expert mental health treatment, the presence of horses, and a natural environment, this therapy offers a holistic path toward healing and personal growth.
